About us

Are you interested in Korean culture? Do you want to learn the Korean language? Are you a fan of movies by Kim Ki-duk or into k-pop? Or perhaps you are simply an avid traveler? If the answer is yes, we invite you to study at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, which is the only university in Poland offering a program in Korean philology! Set out on an unforgettable journey and let yourself be enchanted by the exotic beauty of The Land of the Morning Calm.

In addition to Korean language courses taught from the basics, our Korean philology program offers a wide variety of courses in Korean culture, history, and literature. You will also gain knowledge of linguistics, philosophy, and logic. After class, you can pursue your passions in our student clubs and once a year take part in Korean Culture Days organized by our department. We also offer you the unforgettable experience of spending a semester or an entire year in Korea. Our graduates hold executive positions in companies, work in diplomatic services, culture centers, as translators, university lecturers, and language teachers. Some of our alumni find employment in tourism or work as freelancers.

Korean Philology was established in the academic year 2003/2004. In 2007, the five-year MA program was divided into a three-year Bachelor’s program and a two-year Master’s program. The curriculum has not stopped evolving since its inception and our graduates can be found working all over the world. You too can join us as a student of Korean philology at AMU! See you on campus!
